New Skoda Slavia Facelift Spotted Testing on Highway

The premium mid-size sedan segment has become quite competitive in recent years due to compelling products

Updated on 16.03.2026 – The latest post from cinewheelz on Instagram captures a heavily camouflaged Skoda Slavia facelift running on a highway. The visuals showcase the rear profile with what appear to be split-LED taillamps. Other prominent bits include a sporty bumper, reflector lights and a shark fin antenna. Going by the previous sightings, the premium mid-size sedan will carry forward the door panels from the existing model. However, we will experience updates on the front fascia, bumper, headlamps and rear profile. Also, the alloy wheel design will most likely be new.

On the inside, the Slavia facelift will offer some new features and tech amenities. That is necessary to compete against the likes of the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. Indian consumers value the latest functionalities a lot. Apart from that, there won’t be any mechanical changes and the sedan will continue with two turbo petrol engines – 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI with manual and automatic transmission options, depending on the variant. More details will emerge in the coming days.

New Skoda Slavia Facelift Seen Testing in High Altitude

Updated on 12.03.2026 – The Skoda Slavia facelift is slated to make its entry into the Indian market in the coming weeks. Slavia became an instant hit among Indian buyers who want performance and that understated European elegance. Built on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform, cars like the Slavia, Kushaq, VW Taigun and VW Virtus changed the fortunes of the VW Group in India. They have been posting impressive sales figures for the past few years, as a result.

Sticking specifically to the Slavia, the sedan has performed decently on the sales charts despite stiff competition from the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City and VW Virtus. With the facelift, we will experience new features and tweaked aesthetics. The fact that the Czech carmaker is testing it in the high altitude regions suggests that the vehicle will be capable of handling extreme weather conditions as well. That is a great sign since the temperatures in India can vary from 50-degree Celsius to -20-degree Celsius. I shall keep an eye out for more details in times to come.

The front section of the sedan carries that familiar appearance with sleek LED headlamps and a hexagonal grille in the centre. Moving down the sides reveals an almost identical side body panel as the existing model. However, the alloy wheel design will be different. Finally, the tail section showcases a shark fin antenna, a sporty bumper and slim LED taillamps. All in all, there will be enough elements to set it apart from the current model, while still sticking to the understated design language.

On the sides, the body panels are exposed, highlighting similarities with the existing model. All in all, the facelift Slavia will bear some distinct visual enhancements in comparison to the existing model.

New 2026 Skoda Slavia Spied Testing Ahead of Launch

Originally published on 17.12.2025 – The new 2026 Skoda Slavia has been spotted testing just before the launch in our market. Slavia is based on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaq, Kylaq, VW Taigun and VW Virtus. This architecture revived the business of the VW Group in India as a part of the brand’s India 2.0 strategy in the last few years. As a result, the sales of these cars have been strong. Nevertheless, the overall competition across the segment in India is quite fierce. Hence, carmakers need to keep updating their product range.

New 2026 Skoda Slavia Spied Testing

This post stems from rushlane on Instagram. The visuals capture the test mule of the mid-size SUV on a busy road. As expected, the sedan is wearing a thick camouflage to conceal its design. Still, the familiar silhouette gives away the information regarding the model. At the front, we see a similar grille to the existing model and the LED DRLs are visible through the covering. Even though the exact styling is not apparent, we can expect a few tweaks to the bumper. On the sides, the familiar design theme for the door panels is evident.

Finally, the tail end contains a shark fin antenna, sleek LED taillamps and a sporty bumper. The exact changes to the design will surface in the coming days. Now, there is no information about the kind of amenities the new Slavia will boast. Having said that, we can expect a few minor additions to the features list to pamper new customers. Going by what the current model already offers, one can be sure that there will be all sorts of modern amenities.

Specs

Now, there is no reason to believe that the updated Skoda Slavia will bear any changes to the powertrain and transmission options. This means that it will most likely continue to draw power from a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, generating a healthy 115 PS / 178 Nm and 150 PS / 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The former can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic, while the latter will get the 7-speed DSG transmission. It will be interesting to see if the Czech carmaker offers a manual with the 1.5-litre mill too. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Having tracked the Slavia closely since its India debut, this test mule suggests Skoda is playing it smart with timely, incremental updates rather than a full overhaul. In a fiercely contested mid-size sedan space dominated by the Virtus and Verna, freshness and feature additions matter more than radical changes. The MQB A0 IN platform has already proven its worth, so refining the formula makes sense. What will really define the 2026 Slavia’s impact is pricing and whether Skoda finally pairs the 1.5 TSI with a manual.
