New Tata Tigao EV Facelift Spied Road Testing

The compact EV is slated to entice buyers who want an everyday electric car at an affordable price point

The new Tata Tiago EV facelift makes its entry into the spy media with thick camouflage. The EV space in India has been expanding rapidly, particularly in the last couple of years. There are new models and carmakers entering this space. In essence, the potential customers have a wide range of options to choose from. On the other hand, even the charging infrastructure has been evolving across the nation. Hence, people are willing to take the plunge. In this, cars like the Tiago EV play a crucial role due to their enticing pricing.

New Tata Tigao EV Facelift Spied

This post stems from mechhelp.in on Instagram. The images capture a thoroughly camouflaged electric hatchback performing road tests. At the front, we witness the familiar sloping bonnet merging into a sleek grille section with compact LED headlamps. Being an EV, there won’t be a traditional grille. Down below, we see a sporty bumper. Moving down the sides reveals the compact dimensions and a new design for the alloy wheels, even though the exact styling is not visible. Similarly, the tail end comprises of a roof-mounted spoiler and a familiar body shape.

However, what is quite intriguing and exciting is the list of features on this EV. We know that Tata Motors loves to equip its models with all the latest tech and convenience amenities. The details in this Instagram post mention that the EV will get a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a premium 360-degree camera and an electric sunroof (first-in-segment). Tata understands the mindset of Indian customers, which is why it will offer the sunroof even on a car in this segment. It will most likely share the battery and performance figures with the Punch EV. More details will emerge in the coming days.

In my view, the Tiago EV facelift underlines how quickly India’s entry-level EV space is maturing. Tata Motors clearly understands that today’s buyers want aspirational features like a sunroof and a larger touchscreen even in affordable segments. With stronger infrastructure and rising fuel costs, value-driven electric hatchbacks like this will continue to drive mass adoption. If priced smartly, this update could further consolidate Tata’s dominance in the compact EV market.
